Most banks in India ask for a similar set of documents to open a current account for a newly registered company. Requirements vary slightly by bank, but this covers what's typically needed:
Standard documents
- Certificate of Incorporation
- Memorandum & Articles of Association (Pvt Ltd/OPC) or LLP Agreement (LLP)
- PAN card of the company
- Board resolution authorising the account opening and signatories
- Identity & address proof of Directors/Partners and authorised signatories
- Registered office address proof
Where a company stamp comes in
Most banks expect the company's Authorised Signatory stamp and Director/Partner stamp on the account-opening form and board resolution. Without one, account opening can be delayed while you arrange a stamp separately — which is why it's worth ordering your stamps online right after registration rather than waiting.
Timing
Since stamps typically take 1–2 days to reach metro cities (2–4 days elsewhere), ordering them online the same day you receive your Certificate of Incorporation means they usually arrive before you're ready to visit the bank.
