7 Things to Do After Registering Your Pvt Ltd Company

Getting your Certificate of Incorporation is only the first step. Here's what most newly registered Pvt Ltd companies need to sort out next:

1. Company stamps

A 3-in-1 set — Director, Authorised Signatory, and Round company seal — is expected by most banks and vendors, even though it's not a legal requirement.

2. Open a company bank account

You'll need your Certificate of Incorporation, MOA/AOA, PAN, and a board resolution — plus your stamp on the paperwork.

3. Apply for PAN & TAN (if not already done)

Most incorporations bundle this in, but confirm both are issued.

4. Register for GST (if applicable)

Required if your turnover crosses the threshold, or if you want to claim input tax credit from day one.

5. Put up your registered office signboard

Section 12(3) of the Companies Act requires a signboard with the company's name, CIN, registered office address, and contact details displayed at your registered office.

6. Appoint your first auditor

Within 30 days of incorporation, the board must appoint the company's first statutory auditor.

7. Set up basic compliance tracking

Annual filings, board meeting minutes, and statutory registers start from day one — worth setting a simple calendar reminder system early.
