What size is a Company signboard?
The law does not fix a size; it asks for legible letters in a conspicuous position. Our standard board is 33 cm x 20 cm acrylic, which fits the Company Name in two languages, the address, the CIN and the GSTIN legibly.
What format should a Company signboard follow?
Section 12(3)(a) of the Companies Act, 2013 requires the Company Name and registered office address, also in the local language where its script differs. Once GST-registered, the GSTIN is added to satisfy CGST Rule 18. The CIN is not required on the board itself (Section 12(3)(c) requires it on letterheads, bills and notices), but most Companies add it as good practice.

Is a name board the same as a signboard?
Yes. "Company Name board", "name plate" and "signboard" are used interchangeably for the same registered office display.
Does the format differ for PVT. LTD. vs LLP vs OPC?
PVT. LTD., OPC, Public and Section 8 Companies follow Section 12 of the Companies Act. LLPs are governed by the LLP Act instead, but they follow the same practice: LLP name, registered office address and LLPIN on the board, plus the GSTIN once registered. See Which Signboard Do You Need?
What about a Proprietorship or Partnership firm?
