Just Registered Your Company or LLP? A Guide for Founders in India's Business Hubs

If your company or LLP's registered office falls in one of the areas below, this is written with you in mind.

Areas where founders like you are setting up

A large share of new Pvt Ltd and LLP registrations come out of a fairly small set of business-dense pincodes — tech parks, financial districts, and commercial hubs where founders, directors, and designated partners are based:

PIN Code Area / Landmark City
560103 Bellandur / Outer Ring Road Bengaluru
560102 HSR Layout Bengaluru
560066 Whitefield Bengaluru
400051 Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Mumbai
400001 Fort / Nariman Point Mumbai
400093 Andheri East / MIDC Mumbai
122002 Cyber City / DLF Phase 2–3 Gurugram
110001 Connaught Place / Barakhamba New Delhi
201301 Sector 16 / 18 / Film City Noida
500081 HITEC City / Madhapur Hyderabad
411045 Baner / Balewadi Pune
411014 Viman Nagar / Kharadi Pune

Company stamps and signboards for businesses in each of these areas

  • Bellandur / Outer Ring Road, Bengaluru: a common starting point for IT and product startups — most order a Director, Authorised Signatory, and Round seal stamp set right after incorporation.
  • HSR Layout, Bengaluru: a dense early-stage founder hub, where OPC and Pvt Ltd company stamps are usually ordered before the first bank account visit.
  • Whitefield, Bengaluru: home to larger IT campuses, where established Pvt Ltd and LLP companies need both a stamp set and a Section 12(3) signboard for their registered office.
  • Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai: financial and corporate offices here typically need a company stamp and signboard matching their registered BKC address exactly.
  • Fort / Nariman Point, Mumbai: South Mumbai's older business district, still home to many Partnership Firm and Pvt Ltd registrations needing standard stamp sets.
  • Andheri East / MIDC, Mumbai: a mixed industrial and commercial pocket, where signboard requirements often apply to both office and factory-style registered addresses.
  • Cyber City, Gurugram: dense with MNC subsidiary Pvt Ltd companies, most needing a Director and Authorised Signatory stamp set soon after incorporation.
  • Connaught Place, New Delhi: Delhi's trading and services hub, with a broad mix of Partnership, Proprietorship, and Pvt Ltd company stamp needs.
  • Sector 16/18, Noida: IT, media, and a growing startup base, with OPC and Pvt Ltd stamp sets among the most common early orders.
  • HITEC City, Hyderabad: IT and product company registrations concentrated here typically need both a stamp set and a compliance signboard for their tech-park office.
  • Baner, Pune: a newer IT and services corridor, with steady Pvt Ltd and OPC stamp orders following incorporation.
  • Viman Nagar / Kharadi, Pune: IT park offices here commonly need signboards alongside their stamp sets, given the Section 12(3) display requirement.

If you've just registered, here's what typically comes next

Once your Certificate of Incorporation is in hand, two things usually need sorting before you can open your company's bank account: a company stamp (Director or Designated Partner, Authorised Signatory, and Round seal), and a registered office signboard under Section 12(3) of the Companies Act — with GSTIN added once you're GST-registered, under Rule 18(2) of the CGST Rules.

Does it matter which of these areas you're in?

Not for the requirement itself — a founder in HSR Layout and one in Cyber City need exactly the same stamp set and the same signboard. What working out of one of these hubs usually means in practice is a co-working or commercial address, sometimes a newly leased office, and a company name that needs to go on the stamp and signboard exactly as registered.

A note if you're not in one of these areas

None of this changes if your registered office is somewhere else entirely. These pincodes just happen to be where a lot of our readers are — the requirement, and the process for meeting it, is the same everywhere in India.
