There's no single legally fixed "format" for a company stamp in India, but there is a practical standard most Pvt Ltd companies follow — based on what banks and vendors actually expect to see.
What a Pvt Ltd company stamp typically includes
- Director Stamp: Company name + "Director" + signature line
- Authorised Signatory Stamp: Company name + "Authorised Signatory" + signature line
- Round Company Seal Stamp: Company name arranged in a circle, often with "Pvt Ltd" and sometimes the registered office city
Does stamp size matter?
Size is usually set based on how long your company name is — a longer name needs a larger stamp to stay legible. There's no fixed legal size requirement; it's a practical, not regulatory, choice.
What to leave off
Most companies keep the stamp simple: company name, designation, and signature line. Full CIN numbers or registered office addresses are usually left off the stamp itself and kept on letterheads instead, to keep the stamp usable even if the office address changes.
Ready before you need it
Since the format is standard, there's rarely a reason to wait — order your set as soon as you have your Certificate of Incorporation so it's ready before your bank account opening.
